Scents of raspberries and blueberries intertwined with briar patch spices. Ripe raspberry and blueberry flavors persist with a hint of creamy oak. The 2007 Old Vine Zinfandel possesses a silky and refined texture with a juicy character and juicy acidity. Integrated tannins smooth the finish. Balanced and delicious with 2007 vintage elegance. - Winemaker
Very much a convincing statement of Seghesio's very ripe but very fruity style of Zinfandel, the latest Old Vine bottling is a fairly big-bodied working that, despite its certain flare of creamy oak and extracted berries, is a surprisingly well-balanced wine that could do with age. Powerful and potent and a bit gruff as it unfolds, it is underscored by obvious heat and stiffened by acidity, but not for a moment does it relinquish its firm grasp on fruit, and its prospects for grow are assured. - 91 Points, Connoisseurs' Guide
The 2007 Zinfandel Old Vine (a selection from the oldest vineyards) reveals a dense ruby/purple-tinged color as well as a floral, blueberry and black raspberry-scented nose, a rich, full-bodied mouthfeel, and serious tannin in the background. Textured, rich, and long with considerable upside, it can be drunk now or cellared for a decade. - 90 Points, Wine Advocate
